At Zendrive, we are excited by challenges that touch hundreds of millions of people on a daily basis. Most recently, we pushed ourselves to bring the power of massive amounts of data to improving how people everywhere get around. We thought we could deliver 10-billion miles of driver behavior data this spring, and before we knew it, we had analyzed 15-billion miles of driver safety data.
Yet making the world a better place doesn’t just stop at what we are creating through our technology. The Zendrive team also believes in giving back at home, lending a helping hand to those in need at a local level.
This month, Zendrive volunteered at Walk San Francisco and The SF-Marin Food Bank. Both of these organizations are helping hundreds of thousands of people in need in the San Francisco Bay Area. Walk San Francisco is working towards putting an end to traffic deaths by pushing for more walkable local streets that are safe for pedestrians. The SF-Marin Food Bank is providing hundreds of thousands of Bay Area residents with nutritious food to end hunger.
We joined 60 other volunteers at our shift at the SF-Marin Food Bank to package food. Without all these volunteers, the Food Bank would have to hire more people and reduce the amount of money spent on families in need.
Our shift sorted and packaged 20,000 pounds (10 tons!) of oranges and 5,000 pounds of rice for local families in need. This food will help 44,000 children in need within the SF-Marin Food Bank program.
At Walk San Francisco, our team entered data from Walk San Francisco’s Fifth Annual “Walk to Work Day” event, which took place on April 6th and attracted over 1,100 people. Pedestrian traffic along San Francisco’s Market Street increased 5% during this event, raising awareness for safe streets for pedestrians. Our volunteers helped by entering names and contact information into Walk San Francisco’s database so follow ups could be made. Zendrive staff’s furious fingers entered over 800 contacts in one afternoon!
At Zendrive, we are always seeking out interesting and impactful work. Not only is our technology creating safer roads, but the team behind our product is continually working towards making the world a better place.
